On the end of my line and on my stringer Sorry I had to. The location you're at might help some.

Potlicker convention...I do not venture out then either. Two years ago the unbelievable behavior of people to run up on you just did me in.

Oh my gosh... The *LAST* 4th I fished, had a noob with me that had never sight fished before, we were way way way back in a lake that you see from the marked channel, but still a good ways away.
Not once, but twice in quick succession, big tuna schooner blue waves with at least four biscuit heads in them, saw us bowed up and decided to come take a look. Now it's shin deep coming in, and rapidly gets to ankle deep. You can see the white sand before you come up on it, anyone with any sort of clue knows what it is, but because that little bitty boat's back there, must be ok to run....of course they get about half way, you see the mud start shooting out and that boys was that. Funny thing except it'll really scatter a school of fish.
Then...we spin out and head out of there, five boneheads pushing on this sled wave at me like come pull me out dude...err, sorry pards, you're on your own now. Twenty minutes later in the next back lake EXACTLY the same thing happened. That's it, I'm done.
This is not a slam on every blue wave owner, they just happened to both be in them at the time. And I'm sure the slick salesman promised them these were "ultra" shallow rigs that could go anywhere anything else could. Hard lesson.

Last time I was out, we were about 20 - 30 yards off the show in Port A, inland. We clearly had lines out from us and this guy in a deep hull comes racing through between us and the shore.
He did not get stuck.. he freaking entrenched that boat so hard, we would not have been able to pull him out. Heck.. WE had to push our boat a little to get out when the tide went out.. and he was over halfway to the shore.
We tried yelling to offer to help, he ignored us.
So, we left.
We will be out at PINS the weekend of the 4th. We hope to go past all the throng of folks and are taking kayaks just in case :p
