Are you sure about the weigh-in time being moved up?

i definitely agree with throwing some sort of topwater early, seems like you can always run across at least one good fish doing this. 3 and 4 pounders have been pretty plentiful to me dragging a 3/4 oz jig off points and flats that drop off from 15-20 feet into just about any depth of deeper water after the shallow bite falls off. if you can find some brush or trees in these areas you will do even better.

Crank top of trees and knick the tops seems to be a working pattern at the moment, plus all the marinas are holding bass throwing a jig and dragging it!

Alot of cliffs with steady and quick drop offs are holding small mouth as well. Throw a chicken sh*t rig (kind of like a carolina rig with a small bullet weight) with a grande bass worm right at the bank and let it fall down the drop offs! This will give you a bunch of fish but you will have to fight through the small ones to get to the keepers!

Poppers early on points and back of coves like someone has previously stated!

I will be fishing the tournament as well, plus am one of the organizers for this tourney! I say we catch all the fish in Lake Belton and sore lip every fish for the BLT tourney on Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seems more people on this fishing forum are worried bout winning big pots for Saturday than helping all those who have volunteered there time and resources to make sure these WT s have a great time with helpful tips!

I'll be taking a WW fishing in this tournament as well. Having never fished Belton I'm looking for any advice I can get. I'll be down there Thursday prefishing so if anyone is interested shoot me a PM with your phone number and I'll let you know if I come across anything.

For those that have fished this lake, is there anything I need to be concerned with in regards to navigating the lake?

I will throw my name in the pot also. I will be there on Friday to take one of our soldiers out. I have only fished Belton one time so any help will sure be appreciated.

Anyone that is more concerned about a few bucks from a BLT tournament than helping a wounded soldier have a good time on the lake needs to seriously rethink their priorities. Seems to me like our troops are giving up a lot more on a daily basis to serve our great country than any of these tournaments are worth.

Registration is available at the ramp from 0530-0630 Friday; however, we cannot guarantee you will fish with a Wounded Warrior. If you would like to fish with a Wounded Warrior, please pre-register with me ASAP (phone: 254-251-6700 or email: michael.a.cooper@amedd.army.mil. We currently have 30 boats signed up and are running low on available Wounded Warriors. Thanks. Mike

BWL Coast,

i've been throwing peanut butter and jelly jigs with green pumpkin baby paca craws for trailers. i'm sure these fish would hit just about anything, but i usually just throw a jig here because it seems to weed through some of the smaller fish.

I don't bass fish, so I'm clueless too..first bass tourney in 20 years..lol. It should be tough though. There were a lot of great fishermen at Bass Champs that didn't weigh a keeper.

I talked to one of the guys who corrdinated this tournament, he mentioned to me that they had cut the weigh in to 130 pm due to the heat. I dont know if anyone else has heard this as well..Please correct me if Im wrong
