Will be fishing in the bluewave tournament July 23rd at Port Aransas. I drift often at freshwater lakes and do well catching catfish. Are there good areas to drift in Port Aransas and Baffin? Can you drift the land cut? What is the best bait to use for the reds and trout? Thanks in advance.

Yes. I go every year. My cousin fishes the bay multiple times per year so he knows that area really well. Why do you ask?

Just making sure it's not your first trip. Many areas can get a newbie in trouble, sounds like you have a good navigator. Right now any where on the flats is good drifting, estes, dagger, ransom. Just watch the boat traffic. Baffin is a whole different area of fishing, more gradd, rocks (big ones!) and sand) but great for trout. I have a bluewave as well but will miss this year due to shoulder surgery, have a good time!
