Look for the ones that are rubber. I get mine from Cabelas but I think Bass Pro has them. They will hold onto the braid. The string ones won't work with braid.

FI The string bobber stops work excellent with braid, that's all I use,and the string knot rarely slips.

Here is a link to the rubber ones. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templa...&id=0076977Jared. Try these and you will never use the string again. FI

If I was to tie my own, what would I use for the "knot" material? I am assuming it isn't monofilament ...?

If you are wanting to tie your own, go to wal mart or any store that sales craft stuff. Buy crochet thread, not the woven or spun thread but the smaller string thread (thread used with the real small crochet hooks). You can get a whole spool for that will last years, this is all I use and I dnt have any problems with the knots slipping.

i use mono , i just do a uni knot and wet it down good and cinch it down good . stays put . i do this for slip bobbing crappie on 6 lbs test ,dont know if it will work on braid but i bet it will bwcause on my carp rods i use suffix siege 12 lb mono and then i use either a 20 lb mono leader or a 30 lb braid(p.p.) and i use a double uni knot . and have yet to bust off where they join . if you tie it right it shouldnt slip
P.B. Carp ....29 lbs .... P.B. Buffalo 34.4

Here are the rubber ones we carry. Made by Eagle Claw. We only recently got them added to the line after the catfishing guys were on us to get them. They say they work with braided line. Here is the link to them.
