We have a roadrunner tournament this weekend and I know one of our club members will be fishing McQueeney. Will let you know how he does.
If people focused on important issues, there would be a shortage of fishing poles. My son-in-law proudly serves

Pretty much a case of hitting the productive spots early and late. Those skiers get out early so I'd suggest starting near the island and fish the lily pads. Fish the outer edges first and the cuts then as the morning wears on get into the thick stuff. Also the boat docks that are closest to the channel and low to the water. Isolated clumps of pads and docks up river, later in the day after the traffic picks up.
Just one more cast!

Jimbos advice is right on.Key on isolated pads especially ones at the mouths of canals. The perch are bedding still and the big ones are cruising those canal mouths looking for bluegill.
Gotta love stupid bass....there the only ones I can catch! Have not found many stupid ones this year!!

We had four guys fish McQueeney for our roadrunner tournament. All 4 are pretty good fisherman and are usually in our top 6 or close to it. Anyway, between them, they brought in 3 small fish. Go to Choke or Amistad if you want fish.

I know that for the last couple of years McQueeny has been a dud when it came to our tournaments. Prior to the floods a year or so ago the fishing was some of the best around.
