I have been out there once, about two years ago and I am fishing with a wounded warrior on friday. Anything would help!

BWL,
Thanks for your Support! I will be out there to help with the weigh-in. Belton is pretty tough right now. I suggest you start in the back of coves using a Sammy or Pop-r in the morning and back off in deeper water with a carolina rigged fluke on midlake points. The bait fish are everywhere! Fish your strengths!

James

Hi BWL and JamesJR,

I will be there Friday fishing with a WW as well - look forward to meeting you. I pre-fished yesterday and caught a few but didn't find an obvious pattern. Agree there are baitfish everywhere!

I'm not sure what normal clarity is on Belton but it's pretty clear compared to most of the lakes I have fished here in TX.....maybe 4-5' of visibility?

I listed a similar post this am looking for some help....want my WW to have a great time.

See ya friday!

I've always had luck on pumpkinseed 7' powerbait worms. Might not find much size, but you should be able to catch plenty of fish flipping the trees out there!

1/4 to 3/8 oz texas rig. Trees were anywhere from 5-22 ft deep. You can catch fish in the tree tops that you don't see by swimming the trig through it. Its a blast when you find that row of them that is loaded

No problem. Hope yall are able to catch a few fish. Make sure you find somewhere to throw a popper or spook early. Thats your best shot at catching a decent fish this time of year out there.
