Whenever I have the trolling motor at its fastest setting, it takes off like a bat outta hell whichever way the motor is pointing which I understand. However, whenever I go trying to change direction, the pedal is very hard to push. Is there a way to adjust this or is this just part of the torque created?
Motorguide 71 lbs thrust 24 volt

The shaft may be bent slightly. How old is the trolling motor ?

its gonna be a little tough at full thrust , you have to let off then turn and resume power , my 101 hand is difficult to turn on high
