probaly already bitting there the water is 7 to 9 degrees warmer in rowleet creek than in the lake or in eastfork riv, not sure why but have had my boat in there before a few years ago an noticed the higher temp, may be a spring maybe the treatment plant up on centerville rd. (i think near hwy 66 in garland )i'm sure there releasing "treated" water back into the lake there might explain the higher temps..it's got to be shallow though with the lake being down 4.5 ft last time i was there the water at rowlett bridge was only about 2.5 ft deep but we cayght fish all the way down to miller road but never really tore them up like the guys walking up past the bridge an fishing an spillway or blockage of some sort where the fish can't go any futher (so i been told)never went by foot before ...if you walkin be careful where you park around the bridge the game wardens are inforcing the signs that says stay off grass(even if the grass has wore tracks evrywhere from people parking in it,also it says no motor vechiles past this point.....looks like with lavon low there wont be no run up the eastfork this year...

THERE ARE A LOT OF CARS PARKED IN THE CASTLE PARKING LOT. THAT IS USUALLY A GOOD SIGN THE FISH ARE RUNNING, BUT I HAVEN'T BEEN OUT YET TO CHECK FOR MYSELF.

SuperDuck - There is a parking lot for the bike trails just off of Centerville Rd. If heading north on 66, when you get to Centerville turn right and the parking area will be up a short ways on your right. Another popular area for parking is the grassy area where Centerville and N.E. Parkway/Rowlett Rd. meet but I've never parked there myself. Also there is parking where the creek crosses Miller Rd.

My son and I fished Rowlett Creek by the Garland Gun Range on saturday morning and didn't get a bite. We also fished down south of Miller Rd in the afternoon with no luck. There were a few people catching some at Miller road with Minnows and worms, but very sporadic. We were using Rat L Traps, Road Runners, Lil Cleo's and Rapala floating minnows with no luck. Shouldn't be long though.

Fished there last Thursday 3/2/06 at Centerville park. Started around 2:00pm and fished for two hours. Caught 18 with 8 keepers. Saw many other people catching as well. I tried further north with no results. Not sure if they can get past that dam at Centerville.

That dam is going to mess up the fishing for all the holes norht of 190. I am pretty sure there are going to be people out at the Centerville dam at night with net for easy fishing. We need more rain to fill the creek back up so the fish can get up to the north end to spawn.
