We're going fishing tonight and are trying to decide where to go. Rollover or Sea Wolf??? Or any other suggestions... We have a generator and lights but no boat. Not looking to catch anything particular...just catch something...reds, specks, shark.

Rollover will most likely have a smaller crowd.

It wasn't that bad at Seawolf if you go early like 6am on Saturday but man no one was catching anything, hope you had better luck at the pass.

We ended up at Seawolf...not my vote. My son wanted to go the pier and he and the hubby wanted to catch a shark. It was crowded and I spent half the night catching bait fish and the other half of the night with my lines in, setting there laughing at all the tangled lines going on around me...It is unbelievable...some of it is lack of skill which I understand...everybody has to learn. But some of it is just stupidity...like when people get on the T-head and then cast back over the lines (towards shore) of the people fishing on the sides of the pier. But it was a beautiful night out and we enjoyed the evening just would have liked to be catching something.

But some of it is just stupidity...like when people get on the T-head and then cast back over the lines (towards shore) of the people fishing on the sides of the pier. I like to fish about 3/4 down the pier, to the right. As you stated a lot of people at the T fish back toward the shore and it is a mess. If I were making the rules, fishing on the T would only be to the left, front, or right, and nobody would be allowed to fish toward shore. Welcome to Seawolf on the weekends, LOL. I love Seawolf, but only love it Sunday night through Thursday night. The good news is that Sylvan Beach in LaPorte will be open soon for night fishing, and that, along with 18th Street in San Leon should take some of the crowd away. I am anxiously awaiting for 61st Pier to reopen on the Seawall. I try to go every Thursday night that I can.

we used to catch a lot of smacks during its season over at the pier, and tons of sandies in the sandbars on its left hand side, that pier has gone way down the hill
One of the very few sushi chef here...
