Just curious how you guys split the expenses with your tournament partners? Is it 50/50 on gas/oil in boat and 50/50 in the truck, lodging and food? Do you ever split wear and tear/ maintenence/ repairs with your regular partner?
What if you fish as a non-boater? Is it still okay to just give them $40 for gas and oil? Do you discuss split before you fish with them in a draw tourney? Just wonder how the rest of you guys handle it? thanks Mike

I DONT THINK HOW IS AS IMPORTANT AS BOTH BEING HAPPY. IF I USE MY BOAT PREFISHING ETC.. HE PAYS FOR TOURNAMENT. SOME PEOPLE LIKE TO SPLIT GAS AND TOURNAMENT MONEY HALF AND HALF. IF YOUR FISHING WITH A REAL GOOD FISHERMAN THATS GETS ALOT OF CHECKS AND YOUR YOUR STILL LEARNING PAY FOR IT ALL. WHAT YOU LEARN IS PRICELESS, AND YOU SHOULD SPLIT WINNINGS ANYWAY.

I've been fishing with the same partner for a couple years now, and we usually split everything 50/50... Hotel, gas, he buys his food I buy mine, entry fee and winnings are 50/50. I don't usually worry about oil, maintenance, etc, we don't fish enough tournaments at this time for that to be an issue. And it's my boat, I understood the maintenance costs when I started fishing.

I fish mostly smaller local tournies. If we fish out of my partners boat I pay the entry for both.If we win anything it first goes to me for his half of the entry and we split the rest. Same thing in reverse if we use my boat.We try to alternate boats. If we prefish the backseater chips in for gas.

We usually just split 50/50. I dont charge anything for wear and tear or maintenance because the way I look at it is, I am going to be on the lake fishing somewhere reguardless, whether I am by myself or with a whole boat load of people. So, just because its a tournament shouldnt mean my partner should have to pay more. I am out to have a good time and as long as everyone is happen, then so am I.

I split 50/50, and chip in a little more when it comes to gas for both boat and truck. Also, I just pick up a gallon of oil now and then and give it to my partner as well. We split tournament fees and winnings down the middle.

Chad and I go 50/50 on all entry fees and gas for the most part. If one of us can't make a tournament or can't prefish much we still split the costs the same. Sometimes he buys dinner, sometimes I do and all that balances out. We kinda both pay ramp fees and stuff as it comes up. We split all winnings from checks to big bass down the middle and the same with any bonus money or contingency money. Works great for us.

Everything is 50/50. Works out great. I drive and he buys gas for the boat (his), and we split all the winnings evenly.

I take care of all the boats needs. We use my partners truck to drive to each tourney. He also brings the ice, water, and lunch. With the exception of big bass, we split all winnings down the middle.

50/50. They write me a check or I write them a check if we win money.
