So i live in the woodlands, and i have been wanting to land some catfish. i fished today in lake woodlands for 2hrs on shrimp, and caught like an 8 inch 1 lb channel, but that lake is slowwww... wheres good stream/pond/lake to fish in the woodlands that is sufficient enough to land a MEGA CAT?

thank you

Not that many good choices in that area, but I fish lake woodlands about once a week during the summer time. I throw out a bunch of range cubs in the areas I want throw my line, if im fishng from the bank. Try to catch some shad alomg the boats docks. They are easy to catch with a cast net. Shad are really good bait for Lake Woodlands.

Go north of research forest road. there is a split in the lake fish both sides.
Looking at G-maps the small sluegh on the right up in the trees is LOADED! along with the entire area under the bridge.

Found LOTS of fish about 20 yards south of the bridge in a 14foot hole.

I have mapped that entire lake with sidescan. ALL of the good fish are wrapped up in the RF bridge.

You want to get on the fish, grab a kayak and paddle your butt north and get on some fish.
You could walk it, but this time of year in that area. you better be wearing snake boots!
The south end along the damn holds some decent bass, if you want to try there

Also look on G-maps
Country lane up to 282 south of the hospital.

Gave ya my spot on the lake, not gonna give ya the easy road at the 2nd spot.. start walkin! bolt
