Finally caught enough shad this moring to go with the 12 I kept alvie overnight. Was supposed to be a party of 2, but 4 showed up and I have 45 baits. Did not go to the tackle box to buy the saltys, but should have...I ran out of bait at 11am after leaving around 7am. The group was a Dad from Dallas (Tony Blackman), his two sons, one a plumber from Denver, one a MARINE from WA State and Grandpa from Denver...We had a ball. Ended up catching 30 fish with only 2 making the 19" mark, most were 14-16 inches. Caught all the fish on the river channel just north of Millers Cove that I have been fishing productively for the past 6 weeks. But at 11am they shut off and that was the end of my day. Think my prayer last night and at the Sunset comming up this moring helped. Hands are just now thawing out....joebear

Glad things worked out Joe. I was on Texoma Wed and Thursday. Didn't catch a shad one. We did get on some fish Wed afternoon. Camped at the park Wed night. I'm glad there was no wind to speak of. Thursday was a good day for us (me and my brother)found birds in two spots and caught some. Were just learning the art, and were very pleased with the trip.

"to fish, or not to fish?"....now that there's a stupid question, I don't care who y'are.

shad are everywhere around B.M. cove. Every time I have caught them the last few trips I end up never using them. There all around the boat slips every morn before daylight, averaging about 20 per throw.

Family Style fished the A.M. on Satuday. We pulled Wild eyes with the trolling motor and caught 19 unders and one over in Mill Creek.Just like you it seemed like at 11:00 A.M. it was break time for the fish.
