Greetings to everyone from River Run Guide Service. Over the years, one of my all time favorite paddlecraft fishing techniques for duping river stripers is done as they forage under the dark of night. What a great way to beat the heat and enjoy some fast paced, rod rocking action as we stalk linesiders via River Run Guide Service's fully rigged sit on top kayaks or canoes. Feeling a striper uncork it's fury on a custom modified 6-10" topwater plug is something every landlocked striper junkie should experience. By CPR'ing, we give the bigger fish another chance to do just that. Get bigger! Limits of smaller fish in the 22-28" range are coming to us, as well. The Plug Doctor... Making his rounds on a river near you. Got your appointment yet???

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Thanks guys. The gentleman in the photo is my good friend and striper fishing mentor, Mitch. At 73, he's still just as mad at those fish as he was over 20 years ago when we started fishing together. Mitch is certainly no stranger to big river fish, having held the former Brazos Water Body Record for hybrid striped bass close to 15 years. He is the first angler documented to ever catch a certified 17 plus pound hybrid from the Brazos. As a mentor to me, it's was the ultimate compliment to Mitch when I caught the current Brazos Water Body Record hybrid of 17.97 pounds back in 2008. Looks like we will be keeping this Record "in the Family."
