If your from the North go ahead and just buy left hand reels like me. I can not set a hook with my left hand. If your from the south your father should be embarrassed for not teaching you to fish on a zebco....

I have gone to all LH reels to keep my dominate hand on the rod.

Stinkysteve,I was going to say that I grew up in the era when we had little choice in fishing reels,no level winds and all right hand reels. We had a lure called Hawiian(sp) wiggler it was solid lead and we fished it as a topwater, now I cast right handed and reel right handed so I had to switch hands while the bait was in the air so I could be reeling when the bait just hit the top.It worked for me,but after you went off on that other fellow ,I'm not going to tell you that I just switch hands and have been doing it for 50 years

Well, the old-timers have me now feeling a bit guilty about even considering modern technology to enhance my comfort level, so I'm just going to fish the old fashioned way: I'm going to use a dug-out canoe and a spear. Of course that brings up whether it should be a left or right handed spear...

Didn't mean to hurt your feelings, just letting you know that I for one am not coordinated enough to cast left handed so I have to fish the way I am used to fishing

Buy either Shimano Citicas Or Curados. I bought six Curados over 10 years ago and have only needed parts for 1. The other 5 are still original and going fine. The Citica is less expensive and I bought 2 for my son and they seem good also.
