I have been catching a bunch off good fish in the boat ramp cove and around the bridge. The ones that made it out number the ones that did not. If they die at weigh in take them home and have a good dinner your allowed five per day. No more floaters!! It won't hurt the lake to take some fish, Look at Falcon and Amistad. right on!

DO YOU REALY THINK THAT THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT WOULD OR WILL STAND AROUND AND LET TOURNAMENTS KILL THE BASS FISHING IN THE STATE OF TEXAS? COME ON!! TP&W SPENDS MORE MONEY A YEAR ON BASS FISHING THAN ANY OTHER SPECIES!! I KNOW IT IS YOUR HOME LAKE, AS IT IS MINE!! LEAVE IT ALONE, PICK YOUR MARBLES UP AND GO PLAY SOME WHERE ELSE IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT. PK IS NOT TOO FAR AWAY, HAVE FUN!!

I live here too and remember how bad the lakes was in the 80's and early 90's. In the late 70's and early 80's Hubbard Creek was one of the hottest bass lakes in the state. There were club tournaments on the lake every weekend and they kept the fish. By the early 80's the fishing was tough and by 1990 it was basically zero. Keeping those fish back then was the same as killing them now.

We are talking about tournaments and it's the tournaments that are hurting the population. TPWD services all bass fisherman and most are 'recreational' anglers. If the tournament anglers continue to have a blah attitude about fish dying after that tournaments and it has a negative effect on the ENTIRE bass angling community expect them to eventually step up and solve the problem themselves..... None of us tournament anglers want that. Accept responsibility for yourselves and take care of your fish. It's that easy, no tree hugging or enviro garbage like that. Just have some respect for your environment and take care of it. I feel better now, lol.

the number of bass that die due to tournament fishing is no where near the number of bass that was kept back then! i hate that ant bass is killed for any reason but the percentage of tournament fishermen know how and do take care of the bass better than your pleasure fisherman. pleasure fish kills just as many bass as tournament fishing and the number grows with the tempature. your summer months are hard on all the fish. locals will alway complain about tournament fishing just because it brings more anglers to the lakes. tourny guys are hard core fisherman and alot of big fish are caught duing tournaments, causing the locals or pleasure fisherman to have a tougher time catching the bigger fish. that is all it boils down too!!!

No,man. You don't get it. The majority of tournament fish, that die: Die AFTER they are released and seen to swim off. It's called Post Tournament Mortality. Bass caught and immediately released suffer only a 1-2% mortality rate. BTW there are lots of good fun fishermen out there, and lots of bad tournament fishermen out there.

don't take my last post miss leading. i am not saying that tournament anglers are better fishermen!!! maybe i take it for granted because i always put please release me in my live wells. in the hot summer heat i will put a bag of ice in them and when it is realy hot i will put more ice in at lunch. yes there is good and bad for both tournament and pleasure fishing. i guess what i am saying is the locals always blame the tournament guys for the lakes population. just like you said both good and bad in both.

as long as there is a lake it will always be the locals blaming the tournament guys for the pour bass fishing. yes, bass die and it is a horrible thing. for you locals to blaim it all on the tournament guys is wrong! it is to be blamed on both sides of the fence!! your lake is not the only lake around that has good fish, so get over it!! lets move on to the next tournament!!
