Well that all depends on what I'm fishing for. In general for inshore fishing, live baits will out perform dead and/or frozen baits.

Generally, artificials will catch bigger fish but fewer of them. Also, you won't catch near as much (if any) trash fish such as hardheads.

*Usually* I'll end up with a better stringer than the meat slingers. Not always, right now with all the mud, the croaker drowners have some advantage, but when we get a little clarity back, it'll be swinging the other way.

Favorite Salwater Bait ?

Easy.

Rockport Rattler jigs with any type soft plastic on it.

The jig works all the columns of water and the rattle acts as a "Dinner Bell" for the fish - making it easy for them to find it.

I am partial to live finger mullet and pogey's. However the most productive day we ever had was on artificials.
