I have some soured milo that has been soaking for over three years if any of you want it. I just opened it up for the first time and I promise you that it is one of the worst smells in the world. The milo still looks good plus for taking it off my hands I will throw in the maggots that didnt make it out of the cooler. The stuff is in a square cooler. Apparantly it doesnt leak becasue there is still water in it. I live in the Houston area between spring and conroe. If I still have it by friday, I will take it up to my property to try and bait some hogs. I havent even touched it and yet i smell it while writing this post. I believe that these clothes will be lost forever. PM me if interested and i will give you my number thanks

Just a small word of advice--My PawPaw gave me some 2+ year old maize. Took it out in the boat and was shaking into my dust pan to scatter it out and then the crystalized platic jug broke and my CARPETED boat was covered in that stuff. Got most out with a rag but that ride back to the ramp sitting behind the console with the wind circling was the worst smell of my life-and I catfish!!! Had to pressure wash the boat 3x to get most of it out!!!

you need to fish with it, my uncle has several 5 gallons pails of "aged" milo, some of it has to be 10 + years old, he uses it to start a fresh batch. Have used some of his "aged" milo and as they say everything is better with age....

Smellier the better and after three years I bet a skunk would turn that down as a defensive odor.

I wouldnt mind using it if it were in a smaller container. I could not handle it if i spilled some in my boat and had to fish the rest of the day smelling that smell

Clean up the outside of the cooler really good then wrap it up like a present. Find someone who has a birthday anytime from now through September and give it to them as a birthday gift. Make sure that they have been drinking and have a belly full of hotdogs before you give it to them to open.
Oh.... don't put your name on the card.

I have a bucket of milo that I've been adding to for 5-6 years. I can't tell any difference in the smell as it ages. Maybe the fermentation alcohol preserves it at a certain level. Now a real catfisherman would distill that fine aged batch of milo mash you got there and drink a toast to the bigun that got away. Just drop one o' those maggots in the glass and pretend it's a tequila worm.

Using aged chum is good. best advise though is to transfer to new container before putting it in the boat. Plastic buckets and jugs can weather and make a real nightmare if full of chum when they fall apart in the boat.

I just lined a 5 gallon bucket today with some milo i havde had since i was 11...i am 23 now...stuff still works great...also helps the new bags to get that lovely smell...
Give a man a fish and feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
