Got an invite to fish at Bridgeport. A buddy of mine from Arkansas comes this way to see family every couple of years and always stays to camp and fish Bridgeport. He says its great, heard different from a couple other guys! Any input?

I've only fished it a handful of time but I've always caught a lot of fish there (bass only). I would say my average day there is about 25-30 bass. The problem for me has always been finding quality fish. I usually manage a few in the slot but catching overs seems to be hit or miss. I've also caught a few smallmouth there too up to about 3 1/2 lbs. I know there are good fish there though I just haven't put in the time to locate them. If I was to fish there right now, I would fish the rocky points and shorelines along the east side of the lake. You can usually get a lot of action on drop shots and shakey heads if you just want to get bit.

we used to fish up in the river area before you get to wise county park. some nice deep coves up there. bluefleck powerworms used to work for me. smoke pepper grubs around docks. been a long long time since I have fished that lake.

Fished it last year, in the spring. Caught some largemouth, some white bass, and a single smallmouth bass.

I've only fished it twice, but had a lot of success both times. I wish the hybrids would swim down the Trinity river from Bridgeport and into Eagle Mountain.

BP is probably still a great night fishing lake. the area around the mouth of the river has some good rocky banks, as does both branches of the river coming into the lake. Using black and red single colorado blade spinner baits with a twin tail grub or #11 pork frog after mid night could get you hooked up with a big ol smallmouth and lots of spotted bass.

This reminds me of a story. On the way to southwest Kansas
a few years ago, we stopped at a BBQ Drive in at Childress,
They had several pictures of some nice Kitties including a bunch
of Hugh Flatheads, I asked where they caught em, the owner
replied, Lake Bridgeport, Kind of suprised me that they would
drive that far, but he said they made several trips over there
a year.
