I don't have a pod. I like the light weight and flexibility of the bank sticks so I don't get bogged down hauling a bunch a gear to the water. I could use something for when I'm on packed earth or rock. Been thinking of getting one of these http://www.scorpiontackle.com/adjustable...9b845b298232f50and a buzzbar from Karl.

I was fishing a hard bank last night and just laid the rod on the ground and flipped the runner. 4 lb cat ran with it and the rod stayed put. No alarm, but I could hear the reel running so the alarm wasn't needed.

FISH ON!!! ummmmm off

jesse,
when I'm fishing with bolt rigs I prefer to point my rods at my baits so that the rod and line form a strait line. That way if a fish picks it up and runs sideways, instead of away, I can see that the line has moved because its not straigt anymore.
With a pod I can't do that unless I cast both rods straight out.

Jesse, I won't compromise! My setup needs to be perfect! I need to know the second that fish hits! I only get 4 runs per year so they need to count! fish

I use a tripod that I got from BCT for less than $20. It has capacity for 4 rods with fittings for alarms. Sets up quickly.

I tend to over think fishing. Please help me.
When I am over complicating something please kick me in the face. Hard.
