hybrids in ponds

we put some hybrids in our pond and have not been able to catch them. Any hints on what to thow? They are about 3.5 lbs. I have thrown rattle traps and spinnerbaits and a bunch of soft plastics with no luck.

If the pond isn't very deep, they may not have survived. I think hybrids need deeper cooler water to thrive.

Go with live bait. Try some big shiners, bluegill or other bait fish that are already living in there. If they are still alive, they have to be eatinng what's in there now.

they are alive we shocked the pond last week. I will try the cast net next time the feeder goes off. Probably not going to get the fight i was looking for.
prefer to throw artificial baits

PM FattyMcButterpants, he has a pond with hybrid and an aerator. I think they will only eat pellet food. Very hard to catch. Good luck.

bteel, i live in rowlett if you need some help catching em. Lol. pretty sure that he would have noticed them if they died

i would think that when it gets hot the water would boil in a pond and the hybrids would die better get plenty of o2 to those hybrids.

I have a 3 acre pond and have hybrids in it. ive only caugth them on chicken livers. hybrids can live in any pond like bass and perch they just cant reproduce.

I fished a pond with a good population of hybrids. They would eat fish food like crazy. They were big fish around 5 lbs, so I threw a rattle trap until my arm fell off without one bite. The only thing I found to work was a pearl curltail on a jig head. Once I started using these I wore 'em out the rest of the summer. Hope this helps.
