Question about the reverse combi, does Big Carp Tackle carry the hookline materials that would be adequate. I have never used sinking braids or fluro, so I am a bit lost in deciding. They do not carry the ESP sinking line or the ESP Fluro. Nor does Wacker.

I tend to over think fishing. Please help me.

The carp was caught on a conventional rig.

Personally I ignore all of the advertisements. I'm getting my floro from academy. Just make sure it has low memory.

Agreed. Buying hook link material is a waste of money IMO. There are only 3 makers of fluoro anyway. Seaguars is the original. All you need is fluoro and a supple braid.

Where punters are punted.

What pound fluro? 15 to 20?

This looks much simplier than I thought.
- An overhand loop with fluro.
- Fluro Knotless knot to the hook.
- A strange and messy Albright (wrap both ways) knot to link braid to the fluro. Not sure why not just a clean Albright.
- Double overhand loop knot for the connection or palomar to a swivel.
Is this correct?

Should the fluro length from the eye be about 2" and the braid length be 8"?

I could see the value in a sinking braid.

Jason, If so what is the rest of the rig that you use for buffalo? Bolt or sliding? Leads used?

I love learning something new smile

What is the added value of this over a regular hairless knot setup?

LMAO! well played sir!

I'm gonna have to break down and read this article. I don't really like reading Jason's serious stuff. There is no face kicking or beer in it....

The stiffness of the hair and bit of mono or flouro coming off the hook makes it easier to actually hook the buffalo in their down-facing mouths. I don't know the exact mechanism of it but thats the reasoning. I think Shaun Harrison explains it more fully in his article in USCarpProMagazine. Its a few issues back.
