Fished Caddo today...got to the ramp next to the paddle boat about 5am and headed down river to the L lane...hung a left then started fishing near shore off the C lane....lots of fish busting the surface in the hydrilla. Caught 5 down there...biggest being 4.6 pounds. Pretty much shut off around 9 am.....fished til about 10:15 and headed back to the ramp...fished up the boat lane there from the river and caught one small bass on a fluke next to a cypress tree....the other bass were caught on a frog.

Also caught a few shellcrackers on a blue / black big bite baits senko.

All in all not a bad morning.....but it sure got HOT!!!!

Thanks for the report! My husband and I along with a few friends are considering a fishing trip to Caddo this summer. My grandparents lived in Marshall so I've been to Caddo a few times and I have enjoyed several meals at Big Pines, but never fished it.

Its easy to get around once you get your bearing as to how the lanes are marked....but it would be good to have a gps with you so you can follow your trail back to the ramp.

good luck when you go.....fish early morning or evening in the summer for the best chance at some good fish...rest in the hot part of the day!!
