I have already posted this question on the open discussion but didnt get many replys so I thought Lake Buchanan being a great striper lake maybe I would generate more responses here............

Anyone on the forum know much about Inks lake below Buchanan in Burnet County. We are planning a camping/fishing/boating trip there in a couple of weeks and was hoping to get some pointers on the lake. My brother has camped there a few times but hasnt done much fishing. I am going with them this time and we are taking the boat and was wondering if anyone could give us some tips.
We stopped by there on the way home from the deer lease after turkey hunting and it is a beautiful place. A real gem in the middle of almost nowhere.

The bridge pilings look promising for crappie. I saw some really big bream around the banks and I am certain we will catch some fish but just wanted to ask for advice if anyone is familiar with the lake???

TIA,

Jason

My dad and I used to do night trips there on a regular basis before I moved to Dallas. The pilings under the bridge are pretty good, set out the lanterns and get the white bass hitting, although we'd catch a lot of undersized ones, 12" limit there I believe. You can also catch an occasional striper if they are releasing water, and it's pretty good on catfish as well. We always caught fish, just not many big ones.
