Just got back from my maiden voyage to CC. There are 4 gates open & the fishing was fairly slow. Caught maybe 2 doz. whites & no hybrids. Very few magnums. Most fish caught mid- morning around Key Ranch Estates.

Personal best :
Freshwater Red - 26.11lb.
Striper - 15lb.
Black- 7lb.

CC at 322.23 and rising. Water heavily stained mid-lake from runoff. Caution should still be taken. This pm I dislodged, from under my hanging boat, a partially submerged 4'log that had floated in. It was too large to get out in 10' of water by myself. It's floating somewhere. I tied a marker bottle to it to prevent a PWC nitwit from hitting it! Then again - the bottle may just cause them to hit it, as I watch them doing donuts around bottles all day long. Que cera! wink

Yeah Steve, Harbor Point is on the Northeast side of the lake just past the 334 bridges. Unfortunately I have about a 8 mile ride before I get to the mid lake fishing spots.

Heck it is 12 miles from there to the dam......I know, my gps told me that when I put in at the bridge once....of course I was facing 20 mph plus south winds...it was not fun,,,,going back was ok, but getting there,,,,,well, it was a tad rough.. laugh

Any reports on how the lake looks after the rain?

The past two weekends the whites have surfaced at daylight on the west side of dam. I hope all that show up keep the big motor off. Slab bite on humps has been predictable the last couple of weekends too. Weather looks good for the weekend so far.....

Well we didn't make it up today, was getting ready and had a dead starting battery. Totally my fault. My running lights would not work last weekend and so after finding the problem (after dark at home}I apparently turned off everything except for the key. So stayed home for honeydos. Trying again for tomorrow. Anybody do any good today?
