USE AEROATOR AND PUT FROZEN WATER BOTTLE IN BUCKET OR BAITWELL CHANGE BOTTLE WHEN IT THAWS. THERE IS CHLORINE IN THE ICE.

noideaI guess you could fill your bottles with lake water and then freeze them to eliminate that problem.

If the water is in a bottle it is not a problem.

If you are putting ice in the water are you sure the minnows are dying? Had a friend that put a bag of minnows in the cooler and got tied up for a few hours working around his rv. When he got ready to fish the minnows appeared dead, I told him they were probably hibernating. Layed the bag out on the concrete and in a few minutes they started moving around and within 10min they were all swimming around just fine

The aerator helps alot as stated above

Easy on the ice, too much, too fast will shock & Kill your minnows. Foam lined w/aerator, only handfull of ice at a time
assuming you are using a larger minnow bucket and I've kept
minnows just fine, keep lid closed and out of the sun also.
Good Luck

Bout a teaspoon or so of that stay-alive stuff will also help, it
will treat the water and release a heavy dose of oxygen, some how, we were never without it during bass tournaments and its
affective when trying to keep the fish frisky and alive.

I agree with ozarksecrets. To much ice to quick can cause the minnows to go into shock. I think that stay-alive stuff is also a key in releasing the oxygen too.

I use blue ice in my bait bucket/well, it last 2x to 3x longer then just ice, and its reuseable too, adding bait saver helps too
