Just wondering if anyone has ever fished from the RV park at San Luis Pass? Will be staying there in a couple of weeks. They have a concrete bulkhead that looks like it might be good on Google Earth (close to deeper water than the beach). Or would the Galveston side be better? I have light and heavy tackle and surf rods. I like to catch big fish, whatever they are. Any fish are better than none, though!

Use fresh crabs or cut mullet and cast as far as you can and let it sit. Big black drum and redfish do roam through there.

Ive stayed there a few times, and hooked something big off the bulkhead one night. I fought it for about 10 minutes before my line broke. Never saw what it was. Trout will hammer live shrimp there at night under the lights, as well as off the bridge going into the park.

i love fishing right there near the ramp. free lining shrimp with 12 ln florocarbon catches reds and trout. bump it on the bottom near the reeds and flounder will hit. if i dont see trout popingthe surface, i move on to another hole. tide has to be moving usually for them to show up. the bulkhead is great too as posted above.

saw a guy drop his baitbucket in the water, the idiot jumped in after it and the current took him for a ride. he ended up passing the toll bridge and hung on to a pillar there for a bit. them it took him past the pier before someone found him.... at night too.

dont forget to wade on the NE corner of the bridge. Pink She-dogs and silver She-dogs, live shrimp free-lined with a size 8 treble hook. a split shot might be needed to get the shrimp down a bit. live croaker and finger mullet will catch you something...
