We t out today and only had two keepers out of the ten crappie I caught. I fished the bridge pilons by the city park. 28 feet of water and they were 28 to 22 feet deep. Caught all on minnows. I went up lake first off and fished along the deep water about a mile up from city park and had no luck. Got back to the bridge about 10:30 am and left around 2:00 pm. If anyone as any advice I would like to hear it. I am on leave from the Texas ANG for the month of June, andI just want to catch a mess of crappie.

welcometo the forum and Thank you for your service flag. Maybe there's someone on here that fishes Granbury regularly that could offer a back seat or at least some tips. Good luck and enjoy your month.

Thanks. I sent you one back. The fish I caught today was under the 377 buisness bridge 4th set of pilons from the east side.

Had some luck last weekend fishing the 51 bridge and also shooting some docks. Dock shooting was hit or miss but once I found a dock that had fish I caught 15. Problem is out of 25 or so fish in a couple hours there was not 1 keeper!

Fester, I'm going out on GB this afternoon. Last 3 weeks have held an average of about 30 fish, 10 keepers for me. No real stellar days, but no terrible ones either. I've never had much luck on the bridges on Granbury... just a couple here or there. This time of year through August or so fish deeper docks (10+ ft.) out near the deep end of them. I fish the upper end almost exclusively just due to being familiar with it and not having the boat to run all over the place. There are nice crappie to be caught but you will have to wade through your share of dinks to do it. I'll post something about this afternoon when I get a chance. Maybe I'll have some better news for us GB guys.

I don't live for the thump, but I sure do like it.

Fishin-fool: thanks for the help. I caught 10 keepers (most 10"). Craigo: the wind sucked today. I tied up to a bridge pier and stayed there all morning. I'll try the docks next week. Thanks for the advice.

I went out yesterday morning (sat) and the wind was pretty tough. Did manage 13 fish, only 4 of which were keepers with 2 of those at 14". Couldn't fish any of my normal spots.

What is a good jig color combo for Granbury?

Anything you have confidence in. If you believe in it, you'll fish it right. I use softer/natural colors; chartreuse, shad color, browns, white, etc.

I fought the wind and boat wakes yesterday morning. I didn't get nearly as many small fish as I had the last couple of trips, but I caught 8 that were 11 inches or better. Two of those came from a dock, so my collection of working docks at Granbury now totals 1. Guess I need to just keep trying more docks.

My favorite color tube jig at Granbury is also my favorite at Cedar Creek, Whitney, Bardwell, Ray Roberts, Lewisville, Arlington, Worth, and Texoma. So I have to agree with craigo. It's what you have confidence in.
