I had an expierence this weekend with a 4lb bass that would only tease my tx rig lizzard, I through that lizzard so many times at her that she finally sucked it in!!! I had to leave the area and come back to get her, but got her!! What still suprised me was she still had eggs. Has this happened to any of you?

Especially since most waters are at 80 degrees and up in Central Texas!

Up in the Union grove area, there are some coves and some have very little hydrilla in it, the cove that goes straight and the one to the right seem to hold some good fish. the bites are very big, some dinkers, but not many.

Does anyone have advise on fishing small lakes with gin clear water with large amounts of hydrila? I found a small lake in Lewisville Texas with bass up to 5 or 6 pounds but I'm finding it hard to get them to bite. I've caught a few in the 1 to 2 pound range on a silver Pop-R with a black back but that's about it. I started fishing the lake in mid may and noticed that the bass are active when I get there at about 5:00am but as soon as the sun hits the water the bite shuts down. The lake gets a fair amount of pressure at day break and morning, should I be fishing in the middle of the night to get the larger bass? Any advice would be great as I'm trying to get my 12 year old step son into bass fishing. He likes to go but he hasn't caught any bass yet and I don't want him to give up on it.

Use something like a Spro or LFT Frog on top any matted veggies for larger fish. You can also fish under the mats with a 3/4-1oz jig and Chunk trailer or TX rigged Creature/ Craw worm. Night time is a good time for pressured waters or an hour before sun up and right at sundown. Weightless Flukes, Senkos, Hags Tornado, LFT Ring frys etc can be fished slow thru the grass with good results when the sun gets up. The main reason there is a lot of early activity is the Bass' eyes adjust for the sunlight an hour before the sun comes up.. baitfish eyes do not. So the Bass have the sight feeding advantage until the sun gets on the water. Good Luck and Tite Lines. Bazz
