I have yet to get blanked at Joe Pool this year. But the fish are small with at few 7 to 10 pounders. I have been fishing in the State Park. One of the big plusses for the state park is shade, shade, shade. PM me and maybe I can hook up with you guys out there and see if I can turn you to the dark side...

Joe Pool is stacked with small carp, but plenty feisty on light/medium tackle. Pretty much anyplace that has bank access is likely to produce for you at JP.

IMO, I would hit the vine for a chance at larger fish. But if pure numbers and action is what your after Pool is your place.

I'd try Lynn Creek Marina if going to Joe Pool. That's a spot that you can be almost 100% sure of getting into some carp.

Just hit the State Park anywhere you find shade you can catch fish, and lots of them. Most of them small but my biggest all time out there was 15ish. But I have been fishing the State Park since opening day.

At times I like to fish at the Lynn Creek marina in the State Park. I think it is $3 a person. Not because of beter fishing, but convinence. No casting needed, clean bathrooms nearby, snacks at the shop and an audience.

I tend to over think fishing. Please help me.
When I am over complicating something please kick me in the face. Hard.

+1 for lynne creek marina barge, just use a #6 circle hook on a Carolina rig and put about 6 or so kernals of sweet corn and cast out to the walk way, make sure your bait is open or you set your drag to free-spool.

if corn does not produce try bread kneaded into a ball on a hook.
