"Now two flags fly above my land that really sum up how I feel One is the colors that fly high and proud The red, the white, the blue The other ones got a rattlesnake with a simple statement made "Don't tread on me" is what it says and I'll take that to my grave" - Aaron Lewis

I like both so just tell me when your having the fry an I'll be there However, in my opinion, the only freshwater fish that beats a crappie as far as eating is walleye.

I love eating and catching them both. I tend to fish for what ever is biting be it cats or crappie. I have never caught cats as quickly as I have caught crappies so I may be a bit bias. When it comes to eating, just past the tartar, hot sauce and the hush puppies. Both take great and I will chow down on both.

If blue cat fillets are trimmed right, remove the red meat and the fat, they are just great. I've eaten blues up to 35lbs and they tasted just fine. Small blues and crappie are a tie for me. Yellow cat are right there also. The only thing better is that walleye and sauger are really good also.

I like them both! Crappie are just a little better to me!

Crappie for me, but blues are good eating as well. I like to catch just about any fish, but day in and day out crappie are more challenging! IMO

I worked at a catfish restaurant as a teenager and love them catfish filleted or whole but crappie are even better.
One thing about catfish is that you can cook em several different ways, fried grilled or baked, and its all good. But if I had my pick it would be fried crappie.
