Can anybody tell me where a boat ramp is on Lake Texhoma where I could get some help putting my boat in and out of the water? Where I lived in Alabama there were stores and the folks who ran them would help you. Hope it might be the same here. Thanks in advance-----Mike

I don't know of anywhere that it is offered as a service.I do know that Texas is full of friendly folks that would gladly give you a hand if needed.I also know some marinas will let you rent slips for a few days. For example, you are camping and don't want to bother with loading and unloading your boat while there.
May I ask why?

If you go to any of the bigger marinas that are attended on Texoma and ask for help I am sure someone will, Loes Highport or Eisenhower. Where ya from in Bama? I lived in Rome Ga. for 3 years and fished all the lakes on the Coosa thru Alabama - man I sure miss the fishing out there.

Well dgruff all of my problems are from bad health. As long as I'm sitting I'm okay. I've had polio--three motorsickle wrecks--quadruple bypass--and as a rule too much beer-- And to mr thughes--I lived in Athens Alabama and did almost all of my fishing on Lakes Wheeler and Guntersville. Quite possibly the best fishing in the world. Just kidden'--but it was great--

Milbass, when you did you fish Smith Lake outside Guntersville? I have fished that lake every spring for Stripes using top water. There is no place like it in the spring for Big Stripes. fish

Hi Mibass,
I used to live in Athens. Worked at the arsenal and fished on Elk River. Currently in Caddo Mills, TX but was born and raised on the north bank of Lake Texoma. Don't get up there much anymore for medical reasons.

Mibass, Ok. If you were out this way I'd help you when I could. And you could always put in at the Lighthouse and then rent a slip for $10 a night, but that may only apply if you're camping. Anyways, Good Luck. If I can be of any help, post up.

It has been a while since I launched there, but Eisenhower had two ramps. The one on the right is close enough to the slip that you can back your trailer down next to it (with a little luck) and easily float and tie your boat up to the ramp, park the tow vehicle, and quickly (don't hot the ramp) return to retrieve your boat.

I don't know if fishing is good there right now, but it is an easier launch option.

I was raised in Killen. Did a lot of fishing and playing on Wilson and Wheeler. Sure wish I could move back there. Nice Country.

Yes I really miss the fishing. We actually started a Motorsickle Club in Killen. Do you remember where they use to make tee-shirts? Clubhouse was in Florence. That was some good times.
