What BFS tackle do you own? How long have you owned it? What have you caught with it? (Post some pics up of your catches with BFS tackle.) Give some honest reviews of your BFS tackle.

Please don't give your opinions if you do not own or haven't used BFS tackle.

I'm not looking to hear tackle debates or opinions that are not BFS.

Try to stay on topic. offtopic(I know for some that's impossible)offtopic

offtopic1

Yes, and this is not the thread for another debate.

Just reviews on "your" BFS tackle. No one elses tackle. Please do not give opinions if you do not own or use BFS tackle.

Please do not discuss other tackle brands or go off topic. So to make this clear-er if you do not use or own(ed) BFS tackle, please do not post on this tread. Make your own thread to ask questions or make other comments.

This thread is intended, just for BFS reviews and BFS carp Pics. (NOT DEBATES)

I have the #1 kit, 3 12' phatom rods and helirunner reels. I also have the centron pod and their bite alarms.

I think for the money they are great if you want to get into eurocarping.

The bite alarms are not good at all, but the pod is nice, and the rod/reels/carryall are very nice for 130 bucks. The carryall that is thrown in is awesome, I was not expecting to get something that stout for 130 dollars.
I think it depends on how serious you are. I carp fish 10-20 times a year, if I was strictly a carp fisherman, I would upgrade. But for 300 bucks and you have a full set up, I think it is pretty darn good.

I understand the "get what you pay for" motto when it comes to gear, and if you are very serious about carping, I would recommend getting better gear slowly. But, for hitting local lakes/ponds in dfw, I think it serves just fine. And when you do want to upgrade, I dont think you will take a huge kit on the gear, there will always be a new carper looking to get some euro gear on the cheap.

Hope to hook up with you guys soon btw!

Which alarms? The Screamers or the others.

iv had the black phamtoms they sell there, they are good rods for the price, they can throw a small method ball, but there not really made for it. for someone starting out they are a good choice.

mine are camo, so the other ones I guess. They work correctly, but are not very sensitive at all. Not really a problem with a run, but if a fish takes the bait and heads straight at you, they do not go off, at least in my experience.

Or hangers.

Are we off topic yet?

I will write some reviews this weekend. Full reviews take awhile for me to write.

I have the black phantoms too, although I bought em used, they did well for me, I use only one now for my whacker blaster and it has held up fine so far

I have the 9ft rods, they have held up fine for margin work but not great for pure distance.

I have the holdall, it almost holds too much, the strap pad was also sewed on incorrectly, pad facing wrong direction.

ok I have 3 black phantoms- 1 already has a busted tip
still not bad rods for the money.

Next I bought some banksticks- biggest pieces of shiates money can buy.

bought a carryall- really like it.

Honestly will not be buying from BFS again

i have two tripods, three alarms, a holdall, three rods (12' extreme distance 3lb tc) and three reels (rcor600) and i like all of it alot! ive only had one small problem with one of the tripods where a nut embedded in plastic started to come out. i heated it with a lighter and melted the plastic back over, took 3seconds and solved the problem. i really like the fact that the tripods break down real fast and easily fit into the holdall. they also came with quik disconnects and a buzz bar/alarm case that also fits nicely into the holdall. i think i may get a black phantom sometime soon as a marker float rod?
