What's the best kayak for running baits through the surf? Fishing down at SLP in a couple of weeks and was thinking about trying that. Thanks.

One that you can pick up pretty cheap right now is the ocean kayak scrambler. About 450 from BPS or Academy. It will do the job great and make a nice little fishing yak should you want to hit the bays or lakes as well.

I'm hoping the new Ocean Drifter does the trick.

I saw someone stand up/paddle in a frenzy the other day, and as much as I hate to admit it, it looked like it's a lot more stable than my redfish 12. Hmm... still love my yak anyway!

Redfish is a great yak. Its more of a bay yak for me personally. But they are just talking about running baits out on the surf. I think they are built strong and have a good rocker for the surf. Its not big and its cheap.
