Went up there for the first time couple of months ago, lake is gin clear, based on what the locals said, water was still too cold at the time, nobody was catching anything, should be warmed up by now, its friggin beatiful up there. People fish below the dam in the river for trout. Thats about all I can tell you. good luck.

I use to fish broken bow several times a year when I lived in Oklahoma. I would fish the table tops or humps and points around the islands on the lower end with worms and jigs out to 30 feet deep. The green pumpkin and watermelon colors worked good for me. A jewel jig 3/16 or 5/16 with a vibe craw trailer is about the only jig I fished. I like the yellow magics and small buzzbaits for the top water bite. The lake has nice crappie in it if you can find the brush piles. I would go with the lighter lines 10 to 15 pound tests. Night fishing is awsome on that lake in May and all through the summer.

Good luck.

Very clear water. Spotted bass, walley, crappie, saugey from what I remember.

Broken Bow: May 29. Elevation normal, water low 70s and murky in the upper end. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass good on Carolina-rigs and crankbaits in natural colors at 5-20 ft. along main creek channel points, ledges and flats. Catfish good on juglines and trotlines with sunfish and cut bait. Crappie good on minnows and jigs at 12-25 ft. around brush piles and structure. Walleye being caught on jerk baits and crankbaits in shad or chartreuse colors at 10-20 ft. around rocky points; should pick up with the full moon. Report submitted by Dru Polk, game warden stationed in McCurtain County

i took a guide out and then fishe 3 days in my boat, i never got around to full story and pics. but i almost caught lake record small mouth, many large LMB, some wallelye. average 30 fish a day easy. guide said this pattern will hold untill fall. topwater pop r type bait early and later or very overcast, and then the rest of the day drop shot about a 8-12" leader zoom red plum finesse worm. points with ROCK ODDITIES. lookf for chunck rock points, not just caly bank or shale. the only lake that i have only had 2 rods on deck, but it was very successfull. p.s....that lake comes alive 30 minutes before dark and lasts for several hours. LOTS of schooling even out in 100+ ft. water, just everywhere on the lake.
