About the most forthcoming and honest on here about Ivie. +1 Probably most honest and reliable guy giving reports on the TFF, He gave me advice when I drove from Weatherford on a Tuesday to go to Ivie and he definately didnt let me down, hes right there are alot of boats out there and it can be tough. We caught 8 fish all day with blue-bird skys and 0-wind with biggest being around 5 lbs. I still had fun though and he is absolutely right about you cant beat the banks out there, we fished 8-20 ft all day

Message for fishing fury, CHILL! If you have an issue with someone, you can do it privately through personal messages. I haven't heard of anyone being discouraged to go fish Ivie by reading "The Hags" reports. I am interested in different points of views on all waters. The Hag is offering us his opinion from his perspective, just as you did. You can take the advise, shrug it off, or do as you did disagree. But please, if you disagree, do it with some class. You won't make many friends on here with a personallity like that.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know when to go fishing.

Thanks Steve B... With great guides like Jeff and JR guiding there (as soon as JR gets his shoulder back in shape) the choices will be plenty to chose from.
junbengreat... Be sure and take some medium sized swim baits. I'm sure you will start out with them or a top water bait. Hit those big girls swimming the flats before they move out. Ask your guide before you leave. He will have some for you to use. But, I hate using someone else's baits if I lose them in the trees. Be sure and take your best Carolina rig rod and reel with you. I would highly recommend 20 pound Seagar flourocarbon line on it too. Have one rod with mono line rigged on it for a possible top water bite. I finally saw some larger grasshoppers on some stick-ups. We usually don't have a good top water bite on Ivie until the yellow grasshoppers start trying to fly from stick-up to stick-up.
Jerry at Elm Creek has our baits and so does Nina at Concho Marina. You can't go wrong staying at either place. Both places are just great folks.

Hey Todd.... that smallmouth spot you fish is holding some good fish out in the 16 foot depth, on the end of that point.

God I miss the days when a Busy day on Ivie was seeing 15-20 other boats. I have only been once this year the first week of march and tore them up in 3 foot of water. Luckily no one caught on and left the back of the creeks all to us that day.
I love fishing deep at Ivie but don't like fighting the crowds.
hag- I am down to 2 packs that I am taking to Fork this week. Gues I will have to go see jerry and fight the crowd for a spot so I can pick up some more.
