Hey guys, I'm looking to take a couple buddies on an offshore trip but the weather isn't cooperating right now so I'm thinking of doing a striper trip. We're in San Angelo but will drive to anywhere within about a 4 hour range.
What lake would be the best lake in our range (pretty much all Central texas)?
Is the fall even a good time of year for them?
Do you have a guide recommendation for us?
Thanks in advance.

Cam, I would reccommend going to Texoma on the red river. I've heard nothing but good things about JD Lyle for stripers on Texoma. Yes, fall is a good time to catch stripers. Google texoma striper guides and you will find his website. Ed

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

cgstrange, Give us a call if you're interested in some Hybrid Striper Fishing. Richland Chambers is about an hour and a half South of Dallas. Not sure how far that is from San Angelo, but we can fix you up with a "Package Deal" that includes the Fishing, a Cabin and Meals. Check it out on our site at www.gonefishin.biz Good Luck!
