I tend to catch more black crappie on Bob Sandlin. Lately any color combination is working especially if one of the colors is red.
Last trip was Saturday (6/5) on the water at 6:00 AM...left at 8:45 AM with a limit...from one brush pile.

21 Bridge and the railroad bridge can be productive. I usually head to the 21 Bridge during the heat of the day. There are tons of brush piles on the lake. 18-25 feet seems to be the depth. The fish have been suspending on top or close by the brush. Majority of the fish I've caught are hitting on the fall between 12-15 feet.

I haven't hit the 21 bridge in 6-8 weeks but today the fish were on the brush piles just like 25R624 said. I had 23 keepers in 2 hours in the rain.

My partner and I hit Sandlin about 5:45 AM last Saturday and had our limits at 10:45 AM. Even with the wind it was a good morning. Had more trouble getting the anchor to hold than anything. Only had a few throwbacks and had at least 9 really big fish (1.5 to 2 pound) Most came from one brush pile in 20 feet. Once again, the bites came on the fall.

Yes, anchored near my favorite brushpile and just cast beyond it and let the jig swing over the brush. The wind was blowing so hard anchoring was the only way to go.

Yea Ronnie you need to leave poor ol Cypress Springs to us old rookies, that don't know how to fish big lakes.
