Finally had a chance to fish with Bluetick on Palestine this morning.
Fishing was a little slow but steady, with most all fish coming from bps or timber about 15' down in deeper water, from 20 to 30 feet or so.
BT was spanking me using a metal flake Rocky Top tube, but I think I caught up on poundage later on in the day, with marabou jigs in white and chartreuse.
We managed to boat 23 keepers, with about half cookie cutter blacks, and some nice white toads mixed in.
Great day on the lake with a real nice fellow.

Do rods and reels grow on trees?
Well, if they do Bluetick can give you gps cords on one that should sprout this fall.
Most of us have done it, sooner or later.
Nothing like the look on a guys face while he's watching his rig, go to the bottom. Lucky it was a small combo and not his ST Croix rig.

Thanks for a fun morning.

That is a sick feeling, but glad it was not your good one. I had that happen only once thank goodness, off the dock at night, a fish carried it off to it's watery grave. crying

It did. All I can see is that rod and reel sinking and me just standing there swatting at it with rod in my hand. Im still trying to figure out why I didn't reach down and grab it. I was just kinda stunned. I was waiting for Millman to fall in the water cause he was rolling on the deck laughing so hard. If you have a chance to go fish with the Millman take him up on it, he is a good DUDE. BUt he does catch the bigguns. I did mark it with my GPS, I told Millman that I was marking it because of my rod down there, but really I was marking his spot. I may have to go back to that spot a bunch trying to snag that rod. If ya know what I mean.

It is warm enough that if it was one I cared about I would be in the water after it

Used to bass fish with a guy and he went in after his rod and reel several time when we were fishing together

Well Bluetick, you sure paid the dues to fish that spot...
Good luck on finding that combo. I hear chartreuse and white Rocky Top tubes are the stuff.

I have several in Benbrook Lake. KevinK_FTW had a good laugh when the last one shot off the boat like a rocket. FYI do not lay down your rod when catfishing................ hammer

Try to retreive the lost fishing pole by lowering a metal fish stringer with all the hooks open. You might snag the pole. The hooks will bend if you snag something that will not budge.

If we concentrated on the really important stuff in life,
there'd be a shortage of fishing poles
