any opinions on the quantum reels with automatic brake system (AC3?), eg the quantum pt or accurist?

Check where the reels are made. The qc on reels made in Japan or Korea seem to be far superior than others. That is just my opinion, I have owned reels assembled in other countries whose quality was far inferior.
At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!
