I'd wear my snake proof water proof hunting boots if I thought I would drowned if I accidently fell overboard and they filled up with water from the tops. lol

same thing Ive used for wading for the last 40yrs, the Vietnam era jungle boot or recently Chinese knock offs
not too heavy
they dont get too nasty
and they are very cheap and disposable when they do become nasty
yeah I have funny tan lines but it matches my tan lines from my motorcycling gloves...
I fish because the voices tell me to...

Barefoot or neoprene flats booties. I tried stilettos but would get stuck in the mud trying to launch.

I did that when I was 24 on the Blue river near where it feeds into Texoma. 21 stiches and 11 years later I still cannot stand for my foot to be touched on the bottom due to the nerve damage. Dang man! What happened? So your wife was blessed w/ monkey toes as well huh? Maybe she and I are related!

Teva Dozers....bought first pair three years ago and still wearable with no tears, just scratched and have a perm cat pi$$ smell. Just bought my second pair at Academy for $60.00. There awsome on the beach. Only downside is they allow those pesky rocks in when you walk a creek bed......

I used to go barefoot a lot and use flip flops on land. On the rivers I used to wear water socks. I finally broke down and got some quality river shoes for kayaking and hiking. Got me some Teva Dozers. I read lots of reviews and everyone loves these shoes. Very comfy yet rugged for the rocky rivers. http://www.teva.com/ProductDetails.aspx?productid=6704cool looking shoe but it looks like they would get a load of rocks in them from river fishing.
