I carry 15, not that will ever use all, but they are available. I keep about 6-8 on the deck. If one bite picks up more than others not producing are. I will store them to clean the deck.

Unfortunately, my rod locker only holds 8... But, I can keep at least 10 on the deck if I wanted too! I think 10 is ok, just can't bring myself to cut back to 8 to where they would all fit in the locker. Maybe I just need a new boat with more storage! peep

It's like too much money, there's no such thing.

You can't have too many. As many as can fit is what I prefer.

I carry as many as I can. I hate taking the time to retie or fix a backlash (the ONE time I had one). I just pick up another rod/reel and keep casting away.
I hope I never reach to many.

My wife thinks I have too many rods/lures if I have more than one. I just mention purses and shoes and the conversatiion usually ends.

I have around 15 combos in the garage but cull down to 9 for fishing. I usually narrow down rods to 3-5 while on the water. My two rod boxes can hold 9 each and my co-angler can bring as many as he can cram in "his" locker.

Stress less, relax more. Go fishing.

its an addiction. you never can have enough rods and reels. but on the boat i would have to say 12 is too many for one person. they start to get in the way

You can never have too many rods and reels, especially when you fish multiple lakes and various tournaments... Way to many different conditions.

15 in the boat. Ideally, I have the fish dialed in and only have one rod on the deck.

carry all you can, have an equal number at home as back ups.../when I go with someone else is when a problem comes up, they do like I do on my boat, too much stuff there already so the backseater has very limited room for rods and tackle...I spend lots of time at home deciding what to take when i will be a passenger.

Sounds like the approach I would take. What's up with the tournament pro's on TV that on the last day of the tournament with the pattern, color, bait etc. all figured out has 10 rods on the deck? Seems like you would fall over all of them fighting your fish.
