Have anybody has any updates on the spillway at tawokani dam, use to be a very good fishing place and the last time i heard is that they close the gate

What gate?? It has to flood for water to come over the spillway.

There was a post a few months ago that it was closed because of the litter left by the fishermen.

The Vietnamese guy's have trashed the place!!! BAD!! Thats not racial thing one of my best freinds is Vietnamese. He tells me they are catching more than their limmit and selling the fish. Sad but true.

Call the Game Warden! That ticks me off. By the way, there is no gate. The spillway is just that; there is water flowing over the dam wall whenever the lake is above 437.5 feet above sea-level. check out the latest level here: Click here for USGS station page for Tawakoni

Tank,
I thought they have gate, and if they close the gate then you can't park there. And yes Bluewave its very sad and i have witnessed them trashed the place and took illegal fish also.

Sorry I misunderstood. I thought someone was referring to a gate that controlled the water release through the dam, not an access gate to park and fish... :p

I was there saturday. There is a sign threatning to close it if littering continues. Fished downstream by the rocks. Fish splashing and jumping. 1 guy caught 1 sandbass and 1 buffalo. I did not get a bite.
