I'll second that idea for a yearly permit. I spend so much money on entry fees.

Well we all know that the last two weeks of March and the first week of April is the best time ever to catch whites at Reimers. But I have caught limits in Jan, and Feb. before. The bite is real slow and they are in about tweleve foot of water, on the bottom in the holes right below Miltons. I could go on and on with stories about Reimers because I've been fishing it for 32 years now.
I also know what bait to use, and it's not live bait either, but live bait can be a lot of fun all in it's own. If I do use live bait (river minnows - spot tails) then I like to free float them so I can watch the whites attack it. I just hate to pull a minnow bucket around with me, and get my hands wet and cold though.

FishyTX-
I can't wait for the fishing to get good at Reimer's. I guess until it does, I'll have to drive over to Newman's. Newman's is fun, but there is something about fishing Reimer's that is more exciting to me.

I dont use minows but have before in the past. I found that if you use no weight and let them drift it can be killer. I really dont know the amount of time that i am going to spend their but i do know one thing is that i will never be their on the weekend thats for sure.

If you extend a little more effort you can usually find places that the crowds don't inhabit even on weekends! I like to hike through the woods to find the isolated places less traveled and sometimes it's really not very far at all.

If you go up stream alittle the number of yahoos goes down fast. If you can make it past all the bobers in the water (: Its almost time can you feel it.

Also i cleaned out walmart and acd this last weekend. I havent found what i am looking for but for $20 you can get a hand full of lures. I need to set up a check list of places i need to hit before the run. Also is sportsmans warehouse any good. I was going to go last week but dont like driver to and around roundrock. KC is my next stop but the reason i am going their is to drop off my bow but i will look around and see if he has any goodies.

I am a newbie to this site, really enjoy the posts. I will be fishing pedernales in the morning. Was planning on going tomorrow afternoon, but since the weather forecast is what it is, had to change plans.

...RAIN CHANCES RETURN AGAIN THIS WEEKEND...
THE RAINY WINTER WEATHER PATTERN THAT APPEARED IN LATE JANUARY WILL BRING ANOTHER GOOD CHANCE FOR RAIN THIS WEEKEND.

ON MONDAY...A SLIGHT CHANCE OF RAIN MAY CONTINUE OVER THE EAST AND SOUTHERN PART OF SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS.

RUDY!
Sorry I am so slow in getting in on this post. I have not had a chance to hit Reimer's yet this year, but I will say that my network of spies checking white bass areas around Austin have not reported anything significant- at least not enough to warrant a drive from Dallas (a few small males). But then again, nobody, and I mean NOBODY catches fish like you do. If you are swinging through to fish it, send me an email so we can meet up or something. Same story for the San gabriel...
