Ok Guys,

There are probably going to be a lot of people like myself who have never been to this lake before. Are there any areas like stump fields etc theat we should be careful of? I would hate for an opportunity like this to end up being a bad day for someone who just didn't know.

Thanks in advance.

Wade

The boat lane on the north end is marked with reflectors, go slow anyway, there are those who run WOT through them and there are also those who tried to run WOT through them. Just take your time....

your best bet would be to go out in front of the dam and drop anchor in 150 ft of water...no hazards to worry about out there

I was running all over the lake my first time out... Here is the big difference Lake Fork has stumps touching the surface, Squaw creek has thin tree branches which are as thick as a pencil that wont total your lower unit if you hit one.

If you try and make the boat lane through the heavy timber going up north, make sure you stay right and swing out before you go between the first two trees. There is one famous, real famous big stump sitting in what looks like open water just outside the opening. If you go around this one the rest is easy.

It's pretty clear til you get up north, then when you see the trees stay to the right (almost to the bank) and there's a marked pass through them, but it's small.

Best I can recall that stump your talking about is huge and right where you think you can run. I know it's right where you get to the trees but is it on the dam side of those trees or the creek side?
