since both of these techniques require a long stiff rod, is there a good rod that could be used for both effectively?
thanks

St. Croix Mojo Bass. 7'9" Heavy Action. Love that rod.

PowerTackle.com, Power Tackle Rod PG 104 works great for both.

Not to hijack but....how does the 766 work as a 'rig rod? Seems a little stout to me but I haven't fished one....

depends on your budget. mojo is a good suggestion and st. croixs overall are great. I use a legend 7'mh fast tip for both. its very sensative and has some great action.
you can feel em breathe on it!

I like a 7' - 7'6" MH-H rod, my rod of choice is CastAways Skeleton 7 Mag Heavy SKF7H, very light and sensitive. Been using the 7 Mag Heavy since 1991 for both of these techniques and have not found any rod better, that is until the Skeleton series came out.

I have been using a Falcon Cara Mike McClelland 7'4" jig rod for both over the last year and half and love it. I have also used this rod for frogs around grass. Gonna have to pick me up another one sometime soon.
