I am in dire need of a sprinkler system, but have been unemployed for almost a year. How hard is it, and what are the costs? I live in a "regular" city lot, in Azle. I'll find my plot to get the exact measurements.

If anyone has experience in this, I can offer you a free website design and hosting for your services.

Its not very hard,,as far as parts most jobs that i do have between 6-15 stations,,cost for material will run 800-1800,,depending on the quality products you buy,,, I buy the best of everything so here's how it breaks down

Rainbird DV 100 valves,,reason they are dirty water valves so they last longer

Hunter Pro c Timer module one so if something breaks you can just replace the modular

12 gage rolled wire

Rainbird nozzles

hunter PgP that's a rotor

Rainbird 1800 4 inch pops

Dallas Valve boxes

silicone filled wire nuts

conbraco double checks,,,

You can rent a trencher for 250.00 per day but will have to reserve it this time of the year,,the hand digging is the worst,,,and making the bores under the drives and walks,,,i will spend the extra money on pipe and loop the main so i don't have to make more bores than needed

Also i do 1-2 stations of drip around the foundation and curb area

You can go to the rainbird site and get a good idea of the design,,,also if you have 17 gallons per minute to use only use 14 future construction will mess up your system,,when the demand for water gets higher,,

Just a few ideas to get you started,,, you can plan on your water bill to sky rocket,,if you had the money and time i would make as many zones as possible in drip,,then your dealing in gallons per hour rather than gallons per minute,,cost more up front but you will save tons in a water bill as you will waste no waree as it goes right to the roots

What ever you do don't use pvc or repiar couplings when hooking up your double check to the main line, use cooper

I see these leaking on a weekly basis when hooked up with with cheap material

If your main line is copper use copper to the double check,,if you have any of the PVC or plastic pipes your going to have to use compression fitting,,if installed properly they wont leak,,

I understand,,i was just giving you a idea on the costs of material,,,most jobs going in around the metroplex are running the same prices,,,,you need to hook up with someone that will sell you the parts at there cost,,,With a 2800 bid you must be talking about a 6 or 7 station bid,,,,material alone is going to cost you if you just went and bought it around 1300.00

That's Where you should buy from then,,,as far as pipe i would only buy 1 inch and 3/4 less fitting to buy that away,,and if you don't push your gallons per minute it will work great without pressure regulated heads,,,just some food for thought

Keep all your flower beds in their own zones. Also, if you have close neighbors the area in between the houses needs to be a separate zone. These two types of areas require different amounts of water than your grass.
