Last Friday my cousin and I decided to fish a pond behind my house. As we walked up to the pond I noticed an alligator. I have fished this pond my whole life and had never seen on in there until then. It was fairly small about 4 1/2 feet. And It had no problem comming up to us when we caught a fish.

I didn't get my crappie out of the water in time.

If this is a public pond you need to contact TPWD asap. That gator is far to tame to be in public waters

Private Pond, I spoke with the people who owned the pond and let the know it was in there. Told them I would call TPWD if they wanted me too. I haven't heard back from them yet. I am sure if word gets out around where I live that it is in there someone will kill it. I don't want that to happen if it can be removed. But that is up to the pond owner.

Pretty cool...That looks like the foot of another gator in the bottom right corner of the first picture.

Is this pond in Gilmer?

Sure hope no little kids fish that tank. Even with an adult close by it could really injure somebody. They need to relocate that dude ASAP.

Feeding the thing doesn't help the situation. If you want a little kid's maiming or potential death haunting you the rest of your life, then don't do anything. Word will eventually get around and being brilliant like most kids usually are, someone's bravery will turn into a nightmare.

It's your civic duty to report it. However, there are a few GW's/LEO's who read the TFF and they'll eventually pick up on it.

My impression was that the gator came to a fish being reeled in. Pic 3 seems to show crappie with jig in it's mouth. Reported to pond owner... I think Dockboy can sleep soundly tonite.

Kill it. Better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6.
