I have a 20' CC and wondered if anyone has tried a trolling motor on the transom against the bow?

I would think that would be alot of boat to push from the rear. I would def put it on the front that way you can at least control it some what in the winds

Haven't tried that but would assume that you would lose some control vs having it mounted on the bow (especially if it's windy). Also, I believe you would require a higher thrust trolling motor to "push" the boat thru the water vs "pull" it when mounted up front. That held true for a small john boat I once owned.

I've heard it put this way. " It's like trying to push a chain instead of pulling it"
Take everything I say with a grain of salt

Don't do it. Stick to the bow.

I have a transom mount on a 16' jon boat that works fine. I wish it was a bow mount. I would NOT go with a transom mount if you have a choice.

They make some sweet ones alot of guides use on their Falcon boats at Texoma. It rides just above the cavitation plate, out of the water on plane, in the water trolling.
