I know exactly what you are talking about. Back in April I had a 4 day weekend and caught a ton of crappie. My thumb was tore up, raw and bleeding. I put on a fishing clove on the 4th day and like to never heard the end of it! Geeze, the razzin I took from the guys at the marina was unrelenting. Michael Jackson reference was mentioned quite a few times.
Use your other hand for a while and let the wounds heal. Whatever you do, don't stop fishin....you're on a roll.

You are supposed to be proud of your battle wounds.

What a horrible condition you have!!! I think you need to take a break. Send me your brushpile GPS cords and I'll go make sure this thing isn't contagious. Last thing we need is a bunch of glove wearers running around the lake looking all...... glovey and stuff.

Like complaining about jamming your thumb, while catching the game winning touchdown, in the Superbowl, in Overtime! Probably not gonna get much sympathy on here for a problem we all wish we had!

I've used liquid bandage a few times. Works, but wears off so keep applying. I wish I had more sandpaper-thumb days.

I Love that crappie thumb that's a good thing but on White Bass, Stripers and Hybrids Yep I do not like the gill cuts you get from picking them up - out of the buckets and putting them in the Ice Chest they will cut you to shreds (Ya I use a glove on those).
But Crappie (and Bass) that roughed up thumb that is a privilege and proud to be shown just use a little Germ-X and show your battle scares.
Im proud of those (thats a GOOOD DAY),
