Does anyone know a place somewhere around frisco or sherman where I could buy some grass carp to put in my pond.
Thanks

I don't recommend grass carp at all. I would put Tilapia in. They eat the filamentious algae where the grass carp will only eat the leafy weeds and also leafy stuff they shouldn't eat, plus the game fish will eat them. Whatever is left you can catch with a net and eat. The only problem is they die when the water temp drops to 55 degrees so you have to restock every year. You can also get a couple of geese and they will eat the algae as well. Check out www.overtonfisheries.com

I just have the regular old moss that grows up from the bottom of my pond all the way to the surface and it consumes pretty much all of it. My pond isnt very big by no means but its where I take my nefews to catch some perch and small bass.

go to this website and tell me what this "regular old moss" is:

then i can tell you if grass carp would work or not.

are you sure it is the muskgrass? more likely it is milfoil or coontail, those are seen more. smell it next time, if it stinks then it's muskgrass. and then grass carp might work. if its milfoil or coontail, grass carp won't do that much good. the tilapia will for sure take care of your filamentous algae. so will copper sulfate.
